Russell with an unknown Cocker Spaniel stands before "The Flying Ute" a P-47C perviously flown by Lt. Jack D. Brown of the 63rd FS/ 56th FG before being turned over to the 551st Fighter Squadron/ 495th Fighter Training Group at Atcham.

Unidentified pilot with unknown Cocker Spaniel on the wing of "The Flying Ute". Note the wheel chock at the lower right, which displays DQ-H. The DQ was the squadron code for the 551st FS/ 495th FTG to which the aircraft was asssigned. "H" was the planes specific designation.
